Black Bean Burgers

2 cans of black beans
2 carrots or 1 cup shredded.
1 cup of oats
1 cup onions
3 cloves of garlic
1tbsp. Braggs aminos or 2 tbsp coconut aminos
2 tsp cumin
1 tsp coriander
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp liquid smoke, optional
1 tsp salt or to taste.

In a dry saucepan, toast your spices for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Be careful not to burn them. Remove from heat and set aside. Next caramelize the onion until translucent. Add garlic and carrots and cook until carrots are tender. Remove from heat.
In a food processor using the “s” blade, add the contents of the pan along with the liquid aminos, oats, spices, and beans. Process until your desired texture. Note, if the patties are difficult to form, place in the fridge for half hour. Form patties on a sprayed cookie sheet.
Bake in the oven at 400 degrees for 12 minutes, after flip burgers and bake for another 12 minutes or until golden brown. Makes approximately eight burgers.
