Simple Herbal Toothpaste

Spread the love

If you have not figured it out let me, give you a hint. I love to experiment and add my own flavor. I am convinced I get this from my mother. She never follows the recipe as instructed, she always has to add some uniqueness and spice changing the flavor or the product itself. Years ago, when I visited Wildwood lifestyle clinic in Wildwood, GA, the staff members shared this hands-on herbal toothpaste recipe that was refreshing to the mouth. I enjoy experimenting with skin products as well as food recipes in customizing them to my liking. I figure why not share this treat with folks who want to learn the many secrets of living a good life.

Ingredients
1 oz (28g) bentonite clay
3 oz distilled water
1 teaspoon vegetable glycerin
A few drops lemon essential oil (keeps the breath smelling good and an antibacterial agent)
A few drops peppermint essential oil
½ teaspoon coconut charcoal (optional)

Method:
1. Pour the clay into a bowl, add water, and mix well.
2. Add vegetable glycerin and mix well.
3. Pour in a few drops of lemon and peppermint essential oils. Mix well.
4. Add coconut charcoal and mix well.
5. Pour cream into a container for use.

Suggestions:
Adding coconut charcoal will not make the teeth black but will whiten them. In the past, I have used the plain charcoal on my teeth as a whitening agent and it works but trust me, if you have ever tried charcoal, you know that it makes a hot mess. Coconut charcoal is a very high-quality charcoal and is safe to use. Since I have been eagered to try this recipe be on the lookout for the video in preparing this simple herbal toothpaste recipe. You can find these ingredients in any health food store.
