What Are You Reflecting

Spread the love

Colossians 3 vs.10 (NLT)
Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.

A picture is worth a thousand words, we say this because the world is full of portraits, whether painted, photographed or sculptured, they bear the likeness of its intended object.  While the image is not the actual object, nevertheless we believe that the reflection of what we are seeing can be trusted.

If your life was a picture of what image would it give off, would it be a thing of beauty, or would it be a beast?  Have you chosen to allow the bitter things of life shape you? Have the lines of anger and disappointment disfigured you, having permeated your thoughts and words so that when you open your mouth, your disfigurement can not only be seen but heard.

Imitation is the highest form of flattery, and often we do not realize that we have become the very thing that we hate, not because that was our intention, for none of us wish to align ourselves with an enemy, but the truth is when we focus on the injuries, and the injustices of life, whatever they may be, as bad as they may be, we slowly began to change and take on the likeness of the very thing we wish to have nothing to do with.  What a tragedy it would be if you were to allow the ugliness of this world reflects its image upon you. As you live your life, may you chose not to be a victim but a victor, wanting to give purpose to your pain and bring a mission out of your mess. It is then that you will see every stroke that was made on the canvas of your life, the hard times and the good times, the times of happiness and times of sorrow, the times of plenty and times of need, we’re all working together to create in you a masterpiece.
