How To Get Healthy, Part Six

We have only one life, and Christ says that He came to give us an abundant one. As you look back over your days here on Earth, where have you been and where are you going? What will be your legacy? Will you go from one crisis to the next, living a reactionary existence, or will you break free from the bondage of a past that has left you wounded, weak, and dwarfed emotionally? Will you strive to achieve the freedom that can only come by allowing God to become a friend, and with His help, break the chains that bind you?

In a speech titled “Citizenship in the Republic” that Theodore Roosevelt delivered in Paris, France, on April 23, 1910, he said, “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again; Because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; Who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly. …”

May God give you the courage to get into the ring and fight for your recovery and happiness. Know that you will not win every battle, but the one true God who climbs in the ring with you has promised that you will overcome, and in this life an overcomer is the highest of achievers.
